Nicole Gluckstern CV

Summary

I’ve been involved with the non-profit arts community for over twenty years as a performer, producer, technician, stage manger, house manager, company manager, awards adjudicator, publicist, and award-winning arts journalist. I’ve been an arts and culture journalist since 2005, and in 2010 I received an NEA fellowship for theatre journalism at USC Annenberg. As a former worker-owner of a multi-million dollar natural foods cooperative, I gained valuable experience with financial tracking, systems-building, business operations, compliance, and democratic decision-making. Most recently, I’ve been the in-house publicist, marketing coordinator, and collateral designer for EXIT Theatre, company manager of Eye Zen Presents, and a freelance media and publicity coordinator/consultant for multiple artistic and small business endeavors (including my own). In 2018, I obtained a certificate in Visual Media design at City College, including classes in Adobe Suite, typography, design principles, print production, and web production and am currently finishing an MA in Dramaturgy at San Francisco State University.

Skills and Interests

As a former business owner, theatre-maker, and marketing professional, I’m efficient, detail-and-systems-oriented, and able to self-direct and prioritize. Administratively, I’ve created web, newsletter, and promotional content and collateral, managed social media accounts, and spearheaded community and media outreach, as well as managed business operations, payroll, safety, compliance, and logistics. I’m proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Outlook, WordPress, Mailchimp, Dropbox, Canva, Canvas, Moodle, Slack, HTML, CSS, Adobe Suite, multiple social media platforms, plus database systems such as Filemaker Pro, Sabre, Autostar, Anthology, and more. I’ve lived, worked, and traveled in over thirty countries on five continents, and concurrently learned to mangle a conversation in four languages. I’m an avid city cyclist, amateur historian, and occasional urban forager, and am trained in street fighting/self-defense as well as in conflict resolution mediation, thereby covering all the bases.
